10 Things Gaza Has Taught Us About The World

img of 10 Things Gaza Has Taught Us About The World

The genocide in Gaza has held a mirror to the world and its not always been a pretty sight.

1. Colonial Attitudes Die Hard

To shower mayhem and murder upon an unarmed civilian population is nothing new for the Middle East. The Zionists have been doing it for decades, and the American “Shock and Awe” campaign in Iraq and the first Gulf War were all examples of this. The mass murder of the elderly, women, and children is again nothing new. The near 500,000 (that’s half a million; let that number sink in) people killed from war-related causes in Iraq is testament to this.

The excuses, propaganda, and lies by those killing from air, land, and sea are nothing new, nor is the attitude towards the dead. In an interview given to CBS’s “60 Minutes” in 1996, the then US ambassador to the United Nations was questioned about the effect of US sanctions imposed on Iraq had on its people.

“We have heard that half a million [Iraqi] children have died. I mean, that is more children than died in Hiroshima,” asked Stahl. “And, you know, is the price worth it?” “I think that is a very hard choice,” Albright answered, “but the price, we think, the price is worth it.”

This shows why the Western world has had such a nonchalant attitude towards the genocide in Gaza; they have perpetrated worse upon the Muslims without blinking an eye.

2. The Fog Of War Is As Thick As Ever

Truth is said to be the first casualty of war, in reality what is happening is not really a war but a deliberate organised attempt to ethnically cleanse Gaza of Palestinians and Muslims. However, the truth died a long time before the events of October 7th. The fact that Palestine has been occupied for over 70 years seems to be totally lost in the mainstream narrative.

The lies and the propaganda that has been spouted by Western politicians, the media and the right wing would be laughable if it did not justify the killing of Muslim children. The dead babies, the raped babies and the other lies that have come out of this war have taken propaganda to a new level.

3. The Heart Of The Muslim Ummah Is Still Beating Strong

The Muslim Ummah has been through so much over the last hundred years that the killing in Gaza is something they have experienced around the world before. What is unique about Gaza is the place it and Palestine hold in the hearts of the Muslims. This has meant the reaction of the Muslims around the world has been unprecedented. Their opposition to the genocide, the protests around the world, and the calls for military intervention have been getting louder by the day.

All the trillions of dollars spent by the West to win Muslim hearts and minds have come to nothing. Gaza has proven that the Ummah is still unified by Islam and not some Western-constructed view of the world.

4. Capitalism Has Not Killed All Humanity Just Yet

What has been different this time, as opposed to previous colonial adventures, is the reaction of non-Muslims. Even during the build-up to the second Iraq war, there were protests. However, the number of protests now and other direct actions that have taken place is unprecedented.

The student sit-ins both in the US and the UK have shown that the government narrative is not being bought. Normal people are realising the depths to which the Zionist funding machine has its roots in their everyday lives, even when it comes to educational institutions. This level of domestic opposition to American foreign policy has not been seen since the Vietnam War.

It highlights that it’s not only Muslims who are sick of the Western world’s colonialism; the average non-Muslim on the streets of Western cities sees the double standards.

5. The Establishment Are The Guardians Of Zionism

The reaction of the establishment and ruling classes around the world has been to suppress any pro-Palestinian sentiment. In both America and the UK, protests have been clamped down upon, protestors have been arrested, and any form of critique of Zionism, even purely intellectual, is seen as a sign of anti-Semitism. Political groups have been banned, more will be banned, and the draconian laws will get harsher.

Capitalism as a ruling system is eating itself. It may not be quite finished yet, but the veil is falling from the face of a free and fair society. It is only free and fair when those in power want it to be; in reality, it is nothing more than an elected concentration camp of ideas.

6. The Rulers Of The Muslim World Are Traitors To Their People

Those who rule the Muslim world have acted in their typical cowardly manner. The pathetic and hollow voices of opposition to the genocide are all too familiar. They govern for their own personal benefit alone; the supposed great saviors of the Ummah have sat by and watched children being massacred, and in some instances, even aided the Zionist cause. The Ummah is waking up to these antics, and these events should create a permanent disconnect between Muslims and their rulers.

There is nothing more these traitors can do or say now or in the future that will ever wash the blood of Gazan children from their hands. Their hands were already bloodied by the millions of dead Muslims over the last 30 years of colonial wars.

To have any faith in them anymore is total and utter madness.

7. The Responsibility On The Muslim Armies Is Greater Than Ever

The armies of the Muslim world bear great responsibility. For decades, they have been used as cannon fodder for United Nations peacekeeping missions worldwide. They have never been deployed when Muslims are being killed. Unless all the training and hard work is done so they can sit back and watch the killing, they must put pressure on those who stop them from being deployed to save the Muslims of Gaza.

For a Muslim who cannot fight to sit idly by and not raise their voices is a crime. For those who can actually make a difference to do the same is something that is way beyond that. There is no doubt that the duty of every Muslim army is to now save Gaza.

8. The International Institutions Are Tools For Colonial Foreign Policy

If there was any shred of doubt that institutions like the United Nations were anything more than an extension of the anti-Muslim foreign policy of the West, it should have been shattered by now. Whilst Gaza has burnt, the UN has done very little to support any motions to end the killing of Muslims. The veto system in the UN means countries like America can effectively prevent any motions that call for a stop to the genocide. This is not by accident but by design. It is clear no one should put any hope in this organization to do any good unless it is in line with Western foreign policy.

9. There Is Always Hope In The Future

So, surely with hardship comes ease. (Quran 94:5)

While it may seem like an odd time, when the situation is so dire, to be speaking about hope, in fact, for a Muslim, it is the perfect time. Allah (swt) has tested the resolve of the people of Palestine, and they have remained steadfast in Islam.

The responsibility to take the sentiment in the world and create change is upon the rest of the Muslims. Allah (swt) did not leave the Muslims alone to be condemned to an eternity of doom and gloom, but He gave us Islam to find solutions for all problems.

10. There Is A Need For A Unique Long Term Solution

Protests, boycotts, and social media all play a part in exposing the corruption of the Western world and its propping up of what is a terrorist state. However, there is a bigger solution beyond this that ensures Gaza, Iraq, and Afghanistan never happen again, and if they do, there is a swift diplomatic, economic, and military response.

Islamic history is littered with examples of rulers sending armies and diplomats to answer the call of oppressed Muslims. Salahuddin, when faced with the occupation of Palestine, did not hesitate to unify the Muslims and then liberate Palestine.

The unity shown by Muslims globally to raise their voices against the genocide need to be unified under a political leadership that will protect them and allow them to thrive. That has only ever happened in the past in the Khilafah, and it can only happen now with another Khilafah.
